  3. Word, I get out at 8, too, but I’ll hustle on down. I’m not sure If I’ll compete though…but I’ll be there for sure.

see you then! for what its worth mike, i of course think you should compete. if only because we all remember how great you were in your last competition appearance. “espresso in the marsh” was the highlight of the in-house…

  5. Katie, thank you for setting this up! Great event and great fun.

Mike and or Katie: what is espresso in the marsh? My parents have some wetland and I could bring some in to make this drink!?!?!

  6. Espresso in the Marsh was my sig bev for last summer’s murky in-house barista competition. It consisted of…everything, basically, it was a vanilla ice cream/chocolate syrup base to make up the swampy base, then a shot of spro, then a caramel whipped cream to replicate that gross foamy stuff that floats on top of swam water. It was “the best tasting sig bev” at the competition; I was inspired by Heather Perry’s “Espresso in the Clouds,” DC’s swampy history and my goal to make a “turtle latte” I could be moderately proud of.
