Big News! TNT 1st Place Prize Just Got Real

Alright folks, we’ve got some big news. Our good friend Trevor Corlett (Mr. MadCap himself) is generously sending the winner of next week’s TNT to East Coast Camp-Pull-A-Shot, courtesy of MadCap Coffee.

Camp-Pull-A-Shot is the BGA’s (Barista Guild of America’s) professional development event that is in it’s third iteration and has been wildly successful for the past two years. Previously, it’s taken place on the west coast, but for us east coasters we now have a chance to partake without traveling too far. East Coast camp will take place June 4-7th at the Mountain Lake Conservancy in Pembroke, VA. (Since Dirty Dancing was filmed here, there is a chance that this will happen.)

Per the BGA site, this is what you can expect:

  • BGA Certification through Level 1 & 2 course work and exams
  • Develop exceptional customer service skills and learn how to create loyal repeat customers
  • Work alongside some of the most skilled baristas in the business & develop industry relationships
  • Train with the best coffees, espressos and equipment in the industry
  • Learn from highly knowledgeable presenters on key coffee topics; be a part of roundtable discussions on wide reaching industry issues and trends.

So, if you win TNT next Thursday, MadCap will cover the registration cost (includes room & board/ classes) and you will just need to get yourself down to VA (about a 4 hour drive from DC) and in the case that you’re not a BGA member, take care of that membership as well. Trevor’s goal is to help a barista from the DC area attend Camp-Pull-A-Shot, so thanks in advance for this generous prize. Big hugs to the MadCap crew! Learn more about BGA/CPAS here and on facebook. See you all next Thursday, May 10th at Chinatown Coffee Co!
